Hungary Quote # 263

Crown & Parliament

Crown & Parliament

“Logic is not what our history teaches us.”

GYULA ILLYES (Hungarian poet and novelist)

This summer I visited the Hungarian capital, Budapest. The river Danube crosses the heart of the city. Walking across on Margaret bridge I saw the Hungarian Saint Crown’s stone copy and in the background on the right hand lower corner the Hungarian Parliament. To me it is a symbolic representation of one thousand years history of Hungarian statehood.

City Quote # 262

Budapest, the jewel of Danube

Budapest, the jewel of Danube

“This City is what it is because our citizens are what they are.”
PLATO

This summer I visited the Hungarian capital, Budapest. The river Danube crosses the heart of the city, dividing Pest and Buda. Walking on the Pest side of the Danube I had seen a spectacular sunset over the Buda side. You can see the Chain Bridge across the river.

Cloudy sky Quote # 260

A stormy day in Paris

A stormy day in Paris

“Dark clouds become heaven’s flowers when kissed by light.”

RABINDRANATH TAGORE

Paris is a challenging place to photograph due to the plethora of shots available on the internet about this magnificent city. Walking along the quay of the Seine on Ile Saint Louis on a rainy and cloudy day felt a little melancholic. No hordes of tourists. The city looked deserted. Looking back at the Notre Dame I absorbed the unique mood of this magnificent view.

Rain Quote #259

A moody day

A moody day

“Rain is grace; rain is the sky descending to the earth; without rain, there would be no life.”

JOHN UPDIKE

Paris is a challenging place to photograph due to the plethora of shots available on the internet about this magnificent city. Walking along the quay of the Seine on a rainy day was very moody. No hordes of tourists. The city looked deserted. Looking back at the Notre Dame I absorbed the unique mood of this magnificent view.
