“Imagination is the eye of the soul.”
JOSEPH JOUBERT (1754-1824)
This plant reminds me of a brain angiogram. Those branches look like arteries. I feel like I am within somebody’s brain.
“Human behavior flows from three main sources: desire, emotion, and knowledge.”
I found this urban emoticon during one of my solo photo walks. Love the frozen smiley made up by the decaying wood and the rusty iron. I’m sure this smiley has been here well before the first online irony marks appeared. This symbol looks like a sad joke mark. Did a little post processing to highlight the texture of the decaying wood. The complementary colors and the tight framing contribute to the abstract nature of the photograph.
“And since geometry is the right foundation of all painting, I have decided to teach its rudiments and principles to all youngsters eager for art.”
Implemented basic rules of composition such as rule of thirds and repetitive pattern. The simplicity of the picture strongly emphasises geometry.
“In all chaos there is a cosmos, in all disorder a secret order.”
“We are all hungry and thirsty for concrete images. Abstract art will have been good for one thing: to restore its exact virginity to figurative art.”
“There is no abstract art. You must always start with something. Afterward you can remove all traces of reality.”
Walking downtown Harrisburg I noticed this statue. The abstract nature of the contemporary art caught my attention. Liked the contrast between the convoluted reflections of the statue and the straight lines of the background buildings. It symbolises to me the urban isolation and loneliness of millions of people.
