Hiking Aphorism #127

“In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks.”

Rainbow Aphorisms #126

“We live in a rainbow of chaos.”

“Be thou the rainbow in the storms of life. The evening beam that smiles the clouds away, and tints tomorrow with prophetic ray.”

Vernal Fall, Yosemite National Park

Got soaked by the spray while ascending the Mist Trail.  The fall received  late-afternoon frontlight. Like the dramatic contrast of the frozen dead tree and the thundering, roaring waterfall. The rainbow symbolizes the continuity of life. Really breathtaking view! You just stand there looking up in the mist and soak in the view and enjoy being part of Nature.

Tunnel View, Yosemite Aphorism #122

This is the classic and famous Tunnel View immortalized by many great photographers, including Ansel Adams. The panorama displays the flat valley floor bounded by tall cliff walls. On the left is towering mighty El Capitan and on the right Cathedral Rocks guard the entrance. Bridalveil Fall is underneath  Cathedral Rocks. Beyond in the distance you see the iconic Half Dome. Felt pretty fortunate to be able to include those imposing cloud formations in the composition.

“But no temple made with hands can compare with Yosemite. Every rock in its walls seems to glow life…as if into this one mountain mansion Nature had gathered her choicest treasures…”
