“In sleep he sang to me; in dreams he came…that voice which calls to me and speaks my name. And do I dream again? For now I find the Phantom of the Opera is there, inside my mind.”

“Yet in his eyes…all the sadness of the world. Those pleading eyes that both threaten and adorn…”

“Erik is not truly dead. He lives on within the soul of those who choose to listen to the music of the night.”

“If I am the phantom, it is because man’s hatred has made me so. If I am to be saved it is because your love redeems me.”

GASTON LEROUX, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA

New York Vitality Aphorism #65 NYC/2

New York Vitality Aphorism #65 NYC/2

“New York has a trip-hammer vitality which drives you insane with restlessness if you have no inner stabilizer.”

HENRY MILLER

Second capture in a series of urban exploration of NYC. I guess the city looks better at night when you don’t see the grey concrete, the muted, dull colors and the dirt all over. The neon light provides an artificial glitter. Still, NYC is vibrating, pulsating and is very much alive. This is the city of extremes after all.
