Our destiny Gandhi Aphorisms #24

Our destiny

“Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s need, but not every man’s greed.”

“Be the change you want to see in the world.”

Mahatma Gandhi

The contemporary world is in a flux with no single direction or philosophy enjoying a clear ascendancy leading to a moral apathy. The ruling belief in the morality of delayed gratification has been overwhelmingly replaced by an irresponsible and short-term pursuit of instant “pleasure-on-credit”. In such a society more and more people are not happy and complain of feeling a devastating emptiness.

We all need to step back,  consider our actions and attempt to find a meaningful way of living. What are you planning to change your life for the better?

  1. Dear Robi,

    Some questions first.

What is meant by meaningful living? Who decides? On what basis? What do you mean by “to change your life for the better”? What do you regard as “better life”? Who is persuading you about what is good for you?

I think to discuss matter like this in detail is beyond the scope of this media.

  2. Only you can decide on about what does it mean to enjoy a meaningful life. You need to follow your own heart. Nobody else can direct you.
