Aphorism #18

Traveling to distant worlds

“Travel is never about a place, but a new way of seeing things.”
Henry Miller

Very interesting idea. Never thought this way about traveling. Certainly it has some merit. Any comments?

  1. Fully agree. Also don’t forget the knowledge you gain by travelling. The more you know, the more you are. Also don’t forget, “the knowledge you do not share with others gets lost”.

  2. That’s why ancient travellers wrote copious diaries about their journeys. Marco Polo, Korosi Csoma Sandor, Frater Julianus, Fernandez Magellan and Robert Scott come to my mind among others.
